The Alto da Lousa White Reserva is produced in the Cova da Beira sub-region, within the D.O.C. Beira Interior region, from the Arinto, Riesling, Chardonnay, and Fernão Pires grape varieties. Grown on granite-based litholic soils under a Mediterranean climate with some continental influence, this wine reflects the excellence of the grapes cultivated in deep, low-fertility terrain. The minimalist winemaking process is followed by 12 months of ageing in new oak barrels, imparting complexity and balance to the wine. It has a citrine yellow colour and a bright appearance. On the nose, it offers fresh, complex aromas with subtle wood notes. The palate impresses with its remarkable acidity, powerful structure, and creamy texture, along with a delicate retronasal aroma, leading to a long and appealing finish. Ideal for serving at 8-10°C, it pairs wonderfully with salt cod, Zêzere trout, lamb's liver, and cured Serra cheese.
