The Quinta dos Termos Red Garrafeira is a unique wine from D.O.C. Beira Interior, made from the Alfrocheiro, Touriga Nacional, and Tinto Cão grape varieties, cultivated in the granitic soils of the Cova da Beira sub-region. The winemaking process involves careful hand harvesting, followed by total de-stemming and gentle crushing, with prolonged maceration to extract the best characteristics of the grapes. The wine is aged in new and used French oak barrels, adding complexity. After bottling, it undergoes extended bottle aging, giving it great ageing potential. This wine presents a deep ruby colour with reddish hues and a complex aroma that develops further with time in the glass. On the palate, it is surprisingly harmonious, with great sophistication and balance, characteristic of the great wines from Beira Interior, which age excellently. Its complexity, from the long oak and bottle aging, makes it highly suited for rich dishes such as roasted goat, sausages, beef stews, pork cheeks, game, and Serra cheese.
